Rosetta Fire are back with brand new single, Mr Telephone

After months of expectation, this Friday (30th June) sees the release of the first of four brand new tracks from Warwickshire band Rosetta Fire.

Mr Telephone, which will be available to download and stream from all major digital channels, is the lead track from the band’s new EP, On The Line, which will be officially released in July.

All four EP tracks, including the single, were recorded and produced at Bank Cottage Studios in Great Wolford, Warwickshire, with renowned producer and engineer George Shilling, who has worked with the likes of Primal Scream, Bernard Butler, Teenage Fanclub and Paul Weller.

The single will be accompanied by a promo video that was story-boarded by the band’s lead singer and co-songwriter, Ant Gliddon, and was filmed and directed on location in Brighton by Andrew Scott-Marshall, who has directed videos for bands including Placebo and Skunk Anansie. The video will be available to view here on the band’s website from Friday 30th June.

Both the single and the video play on the idea of a stalker attempting to track down a young woman by telephone ~ but who is the stalker and what is their motivation?

The track has already received airplay and endorsement from BBC Introducing in Coventry & Warwickshire, continuing their support for the band who have previously been BBC Introducing ‘Band of the Month’ for the region and played the BBC Introducing stage at Wychwood Festival in Cheltenham.

In November last year, Rosetta Fire were the only band invited to play at TedX in Leamington Spa, part of a global network of events aimed at spreading good ideas through talks and performances (you can watch their performance here).

Their first full band appearance of 2017 was at Leamington Peace Festival, where they performed Mr Telephone and other forthcoming EP tracks, Cry Out Loud, FATM and You Turn Me On to a crowd that got on its feet to dance on one of the hottest days of the year.
